New rules for children during lunch time were introduced this term (Autumn 1 2016), children are awarded
a 'Golden Ticket' for showing exemplary behaviour.
The tickets are collected in each class and the class with most win a 'Class Breakfast'.
Chef announced the winner in Friday's Assembly - Mrs Gray's Class, their breakfast will be on Tuesday.

Ling Bob has registered for Faitrade, in recognition of using Fairtrade fruit.
This is the first step to becoming a FAIRAWARE school, this is the first Fairtrade School Award and is about finding out where our school is in terms of understanding Fairtrade and using Fairtrade products.
Following a succesful Faitrade Audit in KS2 and an Assembly about Fairtrade with Chef Ives and Mr Tipton who shared the audit results and showed a Fairtrade Film "My Next Fairtrade Adventure" with Tayna and Caleb.
We have gained the Fairaware School Award.
After our success of achieving the Bronze Food for Life award last summer Ling Bob has been chosen by Food for Life and the Soil Association as a good example of food in schools. A case study has been done on Ling Bob praising chef, the School Council and all involved in achieving the award. The school was praised for transforming school lunches, improving school meals, increasing children’s health awareness and working well with groups in the local community. Chef was mentioned in the report as she had impressed the Food for Life team so much during the visit. The report commented “Chef transformed the school lunch experience; presentation of food helps to make healthy choices easy and popular.” Children’s engagement with and the teaching of the new food curriculum was also noted in the report; “Due to the consistency of messages that pupils receive in the classroom, the dining hall, wider school activities and displays boards across the school, pupils in the school have strong awareness of key healthy eating messages.” All at Ling Bob are proud to be a part of the case study. We are continuing to work towards the Silver Award for Food for Life. You could help us achieve this by sending photographs of healthy meals you have made at home with your children.

Chef's Cooking School
Wednesday 18th January 2017 - Year 5 and 6 parents were treated to Spicy Chicken Meatballs, (Recipe here)
as usual Chef prepared the dish for parents to sample then their children joined for lunch.
Wednesday 2nd November 2016 - Class 5's parents turn for Chef's Cooking School today.
Tomato and Basil bread and Spicy chickpea pot were demonstrated by chef. (Recipes here)
Chidren and parents then enjoyed their lunch together.
Wednesday 12th October 2016 - Reception parents attended Chef's Cooking School today, Chef demonstated a delicious Broccoli and Basil Soup (Recipe here). The children then joined their parents and enjoyed lunch together.
Wednesday 16th March 2016 - Class 4 parents turn for Chef's Cooking School today, 'Fantastic Fish Pie' on the menu (recipe here) as usual children and parents the enjoyed lunch together.
Wednesday 13th January - Class 3 parents attended Chef's Cooking School today, Glamorgan Sausages were demonstated (recipe here), the children then joined the parents and enjoyed lunch together.
Wednesday 11th November 2015 - The second Chef's Cooking School invited Year 3 and 4 parents to watch Chef demonstrate how to make a "Mini Breakfast Frittatta - recipe here - they also tried some delicious "left over vegetable cake" if you are interested here is the recipe. Parents were then joined by their children to have lunch together.
21st October 2015 - Parents of Reception Class children were invited to a cooking lesson organised by Chef, following the demonstration of how to prepare 'roasted vegetable pasta' by Chef, the parents enjoyed having lunch with their children.

Healthy Eating Poster Competition (Summer 2015)
All children were invited by 'Chef' to design and draw a poster, the prize was to help Chef design a menu for the last day of term. The winners design together with 4 highly commended entries will also be used around school to promote healthy eating.

Thank you very much to Chef and 'her little helpers' for a fabulous Christmas Dinner
Wherever possible we use local suppliers with impeccable credentials and traceability of food e.g. Red Tractor Farm Assured. This means that our meat, supplied by KLS, Halifax, can be followed from the field to the plate. Our fruit and vegetables are supplied by P & M Produce, Halifax. We also use local wholesalers/suppliers for our dried and frozen products, this helps our community by providing employment for local people.
